Because it is so easy that I just cannot. I could say "Mamma Mia, what a film!", or "Thank You for the Music" or "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme More!". But I won't, as I do have some pride.

However, I loved the movie, though it should be said that I walked into the cinema knowing that there was no reason to look for any substance, that mostly this would be nonsense. And thus,  I was entertained the whole to-or-so hours. I laughed when I saw Benny playing the piano. I appreciated Pierce Brosnan's effort at singing (which was all that there was to it), and I loved it when someone (no spoilers!) turned gay. In short: Yay!

So I might be a bit in love with platform shoes*. Do I lose all my nerd cred? I wouldn't think so. I am enthusiastic by nature, and this is just another area I enjoy! After all, I've liked ABBA since I was eleven, I know the songs by heart, I'm bloody coming out of a closet (a rather glittery one). And it does annoy me when the "better" nerds look down at newbies because they are too much into mainstream culture. So therefore I am not humiliating myself by admitting my love for Swedish pop - I am standing up for all the nerds with misplaced lovings!

I feel so self righteous!

Sweeney Todd

Love couple
I went to see the latest Tim Burton film the other night, and I must say, whilst it was not very challenging or revolutionary new, I was certainly entertained for those two hours.

However, someone in the special effects department should, if not get fired, the get a serious talking to. You see the blood looked much too thick whenever it was not pouring out of someone - and I believe there was too much of it per person. The opening titles really showed this - I could count at least three different consistences during the titles.
Yuck, on so many levels.

On a lighter note, I've done some shopping the past days, that good kind of shopping where I get stuff I want. What I've bought:
  • Fables; legends in Exile and Jack of fables (sale at geek shop)
  • Sandman, The dream hunters
  • Rolling Stones, Beggars Banguet
  • Breakfast at Tiffany's and Twelwe monkeys (Sale at record shop)
  • Yoga mat
I really look forward to try it all. Need to plan dinner, now.
